Exploded view of the
“Short Port” Beamline.

The installed “Short Port” beamline with
diagnostic target attached.
D-Pace has developed a very short (150 mm long) beamline known as the "Short
Port" beamline. It enables users to mount custom high performance targets
on their PET Cyclotrons.
Features
- Designed for use on the General Electric PETtrace™ cyclotron. It can be adapted to other
cyclotrons.
- Provides more comprehensive diagnostic readback capabilities than are
provided by most PET cyclotron manufacturers.
- Enables mounting, and safer operation of custom high current targets.
- Increases the level of beam current diagnostics which can be readback to a
control system for beam tuning purposes.
- Provides a means for custom PET targets to be mounted to commercial
cyclotron exit ports.
- Provides a vacuum valve between cyclotron exit port and target flange.
